grass lily
The grass lily Ornithogalum umbellatum, also known as "star of Bethlehem", is a small flowering plant native to Europe and north Africa. They have six white finger-shaped petals. The flowers open around noon on sunny days and close at dusk. It is neither a true lily nor a grass, being more closely related to hyacinths and bluebells.
