The mysterious flagship monster of Monster Hunter 4, responsible for the Frenzy Virus that drives its plot. Resembles a black-scaled dragon with arm-like wings and with horns that cover its eyes. As such, it is normally blind, instead dispersing its scales to sense its surroundings.

Late into the game, it is revealed that Gore Magala is the juvenile form of an Elder Dragon, Shagaru Magala. It started out unclassified due to its nature, but later it was classified as a unique class of Demi Elder when it returned in Monster Hunter Wilds. Monster Hunter 4 G would also reveal the Chaotic Gore Magala, a variant that’s incompletely molted.
