Takumi is somewhat pokey and can come off as awkward or dense, but is a natural behind the wheel and possesses an almost symbiotic relationship with his car - a result of being made to drive it from a very early age, day in and out, be it clear, rainy or snowy, up and down the mountain road next to his town to deliver tofu to the mountaintop hotel for his father, Fujiwara Bunta.
