expressive hair

Hair that is an extension of expressing certain emotion, such as excitement or depression. Signified by flapping, lowering, or (in the case of an ahoge) forming a heart ahoge.

Not to be confused with prehensile hair, when hair is being actively used as a ligament, tool or weapon.
