An grumpy anti-heroic character from the novel (where she's Dutch) and film (where she's German) Project Hail Mary, who was in charge of the project to save Earth (she was practically made ruler of all mankind), and tried to save mankind by all means necessary (e.g. forcing Ryland Grace to take part in the space mission, and other, novel-only actions such as nuking Antarctica, for which she, unfairly, ended up behind bars (in the novel)).
