El Chapulín Colorado ("The Red Grasshopper") is a Mexican superhero that stars in the comedy show of the same name. He wears a red and yellow super-powered uniform with insect antennae called "Antenitas de Vinil" ("Little Vinyl Antennae") that he uses to detect villains.
Chapulin is armed with a sledgehammer called the "Chipote Chillon" ("Crying Bump"). He also uses special secret pills called "Pastillas de Chiquitolina" ("Tinylenol Tablets") to reduce in size to that of a grasshopper.
The character is played by the same actor who plays El Chavo, Roberto Gómez Bolaños, a.k.a. Chespirito.
The BumbleBee Man from The Simpsons was inspired by Chapulín. He also appears in the One-Punch Man anime and manga series as a very similar character called Smile Man.
