A driving and motorsport technique involving deliberately oversteering to cause loss of traction in the rear wheels during turns while maintaining vehicle control and a high exit speed.
Popularized by the Initial D manga and anime. Formula Drift is the premier motorsport championship for drifting in the United States (with a series in Japan as well), while D1 Grand Prix is the leading series in Japan.
