dao
A Chinese single-edged sword.
The most common type is the liuye-dao (lit. "willow leaf blade"). It is similar to a scimitar. In Japan it is often called the green dragon saber (青竜刀) that was originally a Chinese abbreviation for Guan Yu's Qinglong Yanyue Dao.
