crayon shin-chan

A slice of life comedy manga series drawn by Usui Yoshito serialized in Manga Action from 1990 to 2010. Following Usui's death in 2009, the original manga ended in February 2010. A new manga series by members of Usui's team, titled New Crayon Shin-chan, began in 2010. An anime adaptation by Shin-Ei Animation began airing in spring 1992. The franchise also includes several spin-off anime and manga series, films, and video games.

The series follows the adventures of five year old Nohara Shinnosuke (Shin-chan) with his family and friends, and their lives in the town of Kasukabe, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Most of the plot is about Shin-chan's daily life, but it is often interspersed with fantastic and incredible elements. Many of the jokes stem from Shin-chan's occasionally weird, unnatural and inappropriate use of language, as well as from his mischievous behavior.
