compati hero
Compati Hero Series, "Compatible Hero Series")
A long-running, cross-platform video game series by Banpresto, the style of each game varying by sub-series. A predecessor to Super Robot Wars, which follows an expanded premise: combining the characters, stories, and mecha of various tokusatsu and super robot/mecha anime series. Considered unusual for the time, but enabled by the use of the super deformation chibi style popularized by SD Gundam.
The poster child franchises are Ultraman, Kamen Rider, Gundam, and Banpresto.
This tag refers in particular to original elements created exclusively by Banpresto for the games (as well as characters exclusive to them). Some of the original elements initially created for the series would cross over into Banpresto's other original work, particularly Super Robot Wars Original Generation.
