cold pack

An adhesive pad treated with chemicals that produce a cooling sensation, commonly stuck to the forehead as a topical treatment for headache. In art, they are frequently used as a visual shorthand to show that a character has been working hard at some intellectually challenging task, and/or is ill and feverish.
