clutch purse

A women's handbag without a shoulder strap or handles, instead designed to be carried in the hands. It resembles a larger wallet.

They are typically rectangular, but may sometimes be wedge-shaped. They may rarely include a short strap or chain with which to carry them, but are still intended to be carried in the hands rather than over the shoulder.
