The retro, silent version of Sonic the Hedgehog originating from the franchise’s early days. He's characterized by his shorter, rounder appearance with black eyes, as opposed to the taller "Modern Sonic" with green eyes that debuted in later 3D games.

While Sonic's classic look first appeared in the original 1991 game, it was in Sonic Generations that this version was firmly reintroduced into the main timeline as a distinct, canonical character.
