cable-stayed bridge

Similar to a suspension bridge, this type of bridge also consists of towers or pylons, but rather than a cable being suspended from the towers, multiple cables are anchored directly into the tower and the deck of the bridge. It can easily be distinguished from suspension bridges because all of the cables will be taut and at an angle, rather than vertical and suspended from another cable. Some bridges like the Brooklyn Bridge are a hybrid of cable-stays and suspension, gaining the benefits of both designs.
