body armor

Any form of modern protective gear that is worn over a person's body for protection against melee attacks (e.g. stabs), arrows, bullets, shrapnel, or frags. and Typically worn by military personnel, military operators, police officers, security guards, military medics and reporters/journalists in warzones, sometimes worn by bodyguards.

Notable examples are Kevlar bulletproof vests, plate carriers that can contain ballistic plates, flak jackets, and the bulky bomb suits.

If the armor looks archaic or medieval, use armor instead.
