Named after the Kuroshio current, "Black Tide" being a literal translation of "Kuroshio".

Japanese racehorse. Sired by Sunday Silence and foaled by Wind in Her Hair, he is Deep Impact's full elder brother. While he only has a single G2 victory (The 2004 Spring Stakes), he went to stud thanks to Deep Impact's exploits implying he might have a chance there. Indeed, Black Tide managed to sire one of Japan's greatest racehorses with Kitasan Black. However, it would take 10 years before he could sire a second G1 winner with Kamunyak, winner of the 2025 Japanese Oaks.
