black jack (series)
A series created by Tezuka Osamu depicting the titular super surgeon character Black Jack as he saves people with his incredible (and almost super-human) medical skills.
It is the third most popular manga of Tezuka's behind Tetsuwan Atom and Jungle Taitei (Kimba the White Lion).
According to the "God of Manga" Tezuka (who in real life was actually also a medical doctor himself), Black Jack is the ideal type of physician he wished he had been.
