artillery shell
Ammunition fired by very large caliber, long-range weaponry designed for indirect fire (i.e. artillery, battleship, cannon, howitzer, self-propelled artillery, etc.). It consists of a warhead that contains explosive, incendiary, or chemical filling, and often sharp-tipped, armor-piercing projectile.
Potentially overlaps with tank shell, which has smaller caliber in real life.
Different from mortar shell which has visible stabilizers and stubbier warhead shape.
