A fictional female mecha from the Mazinger Z super robot series from the 70s created by Nagai Gou.
A giant female robot created by Doctor Yumi Gennosuke, with inspiration from Prof. Kabuto Juuzou 's designs.
Unlike Mazinger Z (mecha), it was built with the weaker alloy Z for the single purpose of geological research and handling of hazardous materials. As a result, it initially lacked any weapons and offensive capabilities.
Aphrodite is piloted by Dr. Yumi's daughter Yumi Sayaka.
It is also the first Mazinger robot and first mecha in the history of anime to have a female appearance.
It later introduced the Oppai Missile System as its primary defensive weapons system.
Destroyed by the mechanical beast Harpia Pi7 in episode 74 of both the manga and its TV adaptation.
