Spawn Vol 1 #97 (2000)
angela (marvel)
Angela is a western comic book character created by Neil Gaiman and Todd McFarlane, co-founder of Image Comics.
She initially debuted as an antagonist in Spawn #9 (March 1993), published by Image, as an angelic bounty hunter working under the auspices of Heaven to oppose Spawn.
In the 1990s Gaiman and McFarlane entered a legal dispute involving various things, including the rights to Angela, which Gaiman won in 2012. Gaiman briefly worked with Marvel, who supported him during the lawsuit, and sold the rights to them as gratitude. She debuted under Marvel in Age of Ultron #10 (June 2013). The 2014 Original Sin storyline would retcon her as Aldrif Odinsdottir, daughter of Odin and long lost sister of Thor.
In September 2025, she was introduced as a hero in Marvel Rivals which revitalized interest in her.
As this character's legal ownership is trivia, and Angela is associated with Marvel these days, both the Spawn and Marvel versions of Angela are included in this tag. Use the context and commentary of the art to decide if the Thor tag or Spawn tag applies.
