Pronounced "Ahn-hell" (as per the Spanish pronunciation of the word, therefore properly written as Ángel), Angel is a King of Fighters character from Mexico who is well known for her striptease and killer physique, notably her big breasts - tied with Shermie for the biggest bust in all of KOF at 92 cm. She has short white hair that tends to obscure one of her eyes and most commonly wears a cropped jacket with strapless bra underneath, a pair of pantsless chaps, and cowboy boots.

In The King of Fighters 2001, Angel is introduced as an agent of the secret organization known as NESTS. A NESTS experiment herself, she is genetically augmented to have superhuman physical capabilities, including strength, agility, endurance and reflexes. She is assigned to keep an eye on the experiment K9999, whose purpose is to hunt down traitorous experiments that had left NESTS. During the final moments of the tournament, it is revealed that both Angel and K9999 are actually on a mission to kill Kula Diamond and her guardians, but ultimately fail to do so. When NESTS ultimately falls, Angel escapes on her own and disappears.

In The King of Fighters XIV, it is revealed that Angel abandoned NESTS entirely in its final moments and is now living for herself in her native Mexico, though she is harrassed by NESTS agents for her betrayal. She still doesn't get along with Kula or the rest of Team K'. She forms a part of the new Team Mexico alongside Ramon and the King of Dinosaurs.

In The King of Fighters XV, Angel reunites with K9999 - now a fellow NESTS renegade under his new name Krohnen and with a slightly less volatile temperament - and teams up with him and a rebellious Kula to stick it to Team K'. After the tournament, Angel returns Kula to her guardians without a fuss and decides to travel with Krohnen for a while.

Angel's fighting style is self-described as "perfunctory," meaning she has no real training and makes up her style and strategy on the fly as she goes. This manifests as a combination of unorthodox speedy attacks and a small assortment of professional wrestling moves, particularly those inspired by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
