She has very long grey hair tied in a ponytail, grey eyes, and glasses. Her default outfit is a variant of the Special-Type uniform unique to her and Sagiri: a white shirt with light blue sailor collar, purple neckerchief, black bodysuit, grey pleated skirt, black socks, and grey rudder footwear. In her Kai Ni form, she has well-defined abs.

Her rigging is shared with the rest of the Special-Types: her funnel and foremast to her back, a 12.7 twin handgun mount, and 61 cm triple torpedo tubes on thigh straps

She has a "hotblooded" tomboy personality, and seems to relish combat. Her lines reference her being taken care of by her younger sister-ship Sagiri, who was implemented at the same time. She also makes occasional references to John F. Kennedy in her lines on account of her history with him.

The historic IJN Amagiri saw action in battle of Midway, Eastern Solomons, the Tokyo Express transport missions, and Kula Gulf before she was sunk off Borneo in 1944 during a transport run. Her most famous action was the sinking of PT-109, an American torpedo boat that happened to carry future-President of the United States John F. Kennedy.
