almond blossoms (van gogh)
A group of several paintings made in 1888 and 1890 by Vincent van Gogh. The most popular being Almond Blossom, made in 1890.
Vincent was so overjoyed about the birth of his nephew and namesake, son of his brother and sister-in-law Jo, that he painted an almond tree blossoming, which symbolizes hope, purity and new life.
