Alex Mason (born on June 3, 1933) is the playable protagonist of Call of Duty: Black Ops. A CIA operative and retired Marine Force Recon Captain. He experienced imprisonment at Soviet Gulag in Vorkuta, thus underwent interrogation upon return to the US.
Mason returns as a deuteragonist in Black Ops 2 as the main playable character for the 1980s missions (excluding Suffer With Me), and later returns as a supporting protagonist in Black Ops Cold War.
