advance wars
A series of military-themed turn-based strategy video games, predominantly developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. Originally developed exclusively for the Japanese market, the series later expanded to the North American and European market with Advance Wars.
Players take control of 2-4 nations engaged in a war, where they must defeat the opposing side(s)' forces using a selection of different unit types.
A third-person real-time series of strategy games called Battalion Wars was developed by Kuju Entertainment.
