3-up moon

3UPムーン

A power-up from the Mario series that first appeared in Super Mario World. They reappeared in New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, where they can be found inside blocks exclusively in Boost Mode. In New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, with the removal of Boost Mode, they instead appear in blocks replacing 1-up mushrooms when playing with Toadette. They are extremely rare and give the player three extra lives when collected.

They are depicted as a yellow crescent moon with black eyes and a smiley face.
