A major protagonist in the Slayers series who used to be Lina Inverse's enemy, but soon becomes a good friend. Zelgadiss was transformed into a chimera by the High Priest Rezo, and he is traveling the world to find a way to return to normal. He finds that being around Lina's entourage helps him find good clues. Zel is very rational and serious, and is a decent swordsman and spellcaster.
