Kurdish: Yekîneyên Parastina Jin (YPJ)
A mainly-Kurdish all-woman militia in Northern Syria, part of the armed wing of the Democratic Union Party of Syria and the primary defense forces of the de facto autonomous Democratic Federation of Northern Syria.
It has a brother organization, the People's Protection Units.
