A team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a volleyball net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules. It may be played on grass, sand, snow, or on an indoor sports court such as in a school gym.
Beach volleyball is a popular variant with two players per team and a slightly different set of rules.
