A small limestone sculpture discovered near Willendorf, a village in Lower Austria. It is estimated to be 25,000–30,000 years old. The sculpture portrays a nude woman with huge, sagging breasts and fat or obese proportions, with both arms placed in a breast suppress pose. Some researchers hypothesize that the figurines were used in the worship of prehistoric fertility goddesses, citing how the parts of the body associated with fertility and childbearing have been emphasized.
