The story focuses on a group of eighteen people, mostly family members of the wealthy Ushiromiya family, on a secluded island trapped by a typhoon for a period of two days. The division of assets belonging to the ailing head of the Ushiromiya family is a primary source of conflict amongst much of the cast.
