The Rock is a 1996 action movie directed by Micheal Bay.
The movie involves a group of rogue US Marines led by Brigadier General Frank Hummel, played by Ed Harris, who has taken over Alcatraz Island and demands the US Government compensate the families of his dead Marines who died in US black ops missions or he will launch missles armed with Nerve gas at the city of San Francisco. To stop them, FBI chemical weapons specialist, Dr. Stanley Goodspeed, played by Nicolas Cage, and a former British Spy who has escaped Alcatraz in the past John Mason, played by Sean Connery, join a Navy SEALs task force to infiltrate the island.
