The original manga and anime of the Tetsujin 28-gou series, first published from 1956 to 1966, while the anime ran from 1963 to 1966. It would later go on to serve as the primary inspiration for the 2004 anime series.
This iteration of Tetsujin was aired in America under the localized title Gigantor, which dubbed 52 of the original 97 episodes.
