Magical weapons used to slay mononoke in Mononoke. Officially translated as "sacred sword."
To unsheathe a sword of exorcism, a mononoke's Form (形/katachi - name, shape, physical appearance), Truth (真/makoto - state of being) and Regret (理/kotowari - state of mind) must be discovered. When drawn, the blade is revealed to be an energy sword far longer than its short sheath.
Two of the sixty-four swords of exorcism have been shown: The one held by the Kusuriuri of Mononoke and Ayakashi is red and gold with many round embedded jewels. The pommel is a goblin-like head with facial hair. When drawn it has an orange and purple energy blade. Its name is Ri. The one held by the Kusuriuri of Gekijouban Mononoke is yellow with a design of purple scales along the grip. The pommel is a dragon-like head with sharp fangs. When drawn it has a black and yellow energy blade. Its name is Kon.
