The playable character species of the game Rain World.

Salient qualities are smooth, mostly monochromatic skin, solid eyes, a thick tail, and the ability to use simple tools.

The base game has three different playable slugcats:

• Survivor (white) - Default
• Monk (yellow) - Easy Mode
• Hunter (pink) - Hard Mode. Has scars over his body, and can carry a spear on its back.

The "Downpour" DLC adds five more playable slugcats, all with unique campaigns, plus one secret slugcat.

• Artificer (maroon) - Pyrotechnic master, hates Scavengers.
• Gourmand (orange) - A more... rotund slugcat than most.
• Spearmaster (purple, with white spots on tail) - Can produce spears. Has a bigger tail and no mouth.
• Rivulet (light blue) - Has axolotl ears. Runs and swims extremely fast.
• Saint (green) - Nonviolent, vegetarian, the only slugcat with fur.
• Inv (black / blue) - Secret slugcat. More or less a joke, as their campaign contains various fourth wall breaking elements and the difficulty is ramped to absurd levels. On the plus side, they start with a singularity bomb.

The "Watcher" DLC adds the titular slugcat:

• Watcher (navy blue) - Sometimes surronded by aura
