An animated web series created by Rooster Teeth and its first show. Notable for its use of machinima style, where prerecorded voices were dubbed over videogame footage. Loosely set in the Halo universe, the series follows an ongoing training war exercise between two teams of Spartans: Red Team and Blue Team, while also parodying FPS videogames, military life, and sci-fi movies.
At the beginning, the series used the Halo engine from the Halo games to animate the show before later seasons switched to Unreal Engine 4. Beginning from 2003 and ending in 2024, Red vs. Blue had 19 seasons, 7 mini-series and one movie.
