Hatsune Miku receives a new design in a race queen theme for each racing season since 2009. The designs are officially acknowledged as "Racing Miku" (レーシングミク). The real life race queens for GoodSmile are known as the "Racing Miku Supporters" and wear outfits based on the Racing Miku design of the year.
The 2009 derivative is the only version of the Racing Miku derivatives which did not have an official illustration as per her release, though it was featured in merchandise for that season and new official arts have been given later on. The unveiling of the Racing Miku derivatives only became a feature from the 2010 season onwards. All merchandise related to Good Smile Racing featuring Miku prior to the 2010 season, with the exception of the 2009 Racing Miku figurine, features Miku in her normal attire.
