The OTs-39 Baksanets (ОЦ-39 Баксанец) is a Russian prototype submachine gun designed by Vladimir Zlobin (who also designed the AK-12 prototype) in 1998 and produced by TsKIB SOO. It was designed to take advantage of old stockpiles of 7.62×25mm Tokarev rounds for law enforcement use.
The weapon features an open-bolt mechanism, a large two-port muzzle device, stamped steel receiver, polymer furniture, relatively large iron sight posts, a three-position fire selector switch that includes burst mode, and a side-folding stock.
