Onodera Rio is a kind, but naiive and easily flustered, Japanese language teacher who is hired by Sakura Touya's father to tutor his son, alongside her colleages Akizuki Sara, Amemiya Amane, and Shiono Nagisa. Unlike her colleagues, Rio is not a professional teacher and is instead training to become one.

She is a young woman with long red hair, typically wearing a suit with a skirt suit when teaching, though she instead wears a white camisole with a yellow skirt when in casual situations.
