NewJeans announced an indefinite hiatus in March 2025 due to legal issues between the group's creative director Min Hee-jin, ADOR, and Hybe Corporation. During this hiatus period they attempted to rebrand as NJZ and promote independently from their label, but the comeback was swiftly shut down due to contract breach issues.
