Her rigging consists of her funnels on her ankles, 14 cm gun mounts on both of her elbow gloves (with an additional aircraft catapult on her right), and two 61 cm quad torpedo tubes attached to her black belt.
Considers herself as being the fleet's idol. She is a common unwanted drop, leading to the nickname "2 Fuel, 4 Ammo, 11 Steel Girl" after the amount of resources you get from dismantling her, often representing her as an actual pile of these resources.
Historically, Naka was to be the second of the Sendai-class and was actually laid down before Jintsuu. However, the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923 damaged Naka's original hull so much that she need to be scrapped and be rebuilt from scratch. She was finally completed in 1925, making her the third and last of her class.
