A non-canon installment in the Metal Gear franchise released in 2018, and is the first game in the series since the NES ports not to be produced by Kojima Hideo.
When announced in 2016, the game received bad reception from shifting the series into a survival horror setting instead of the political espionage it was known for. When the game was released, more flaws were discovered, such as paying for save slots and reused assets from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
