Sanzen'in Nagi's seventeen-year-old personal maid and colleague to her butler Ayasaki Hayate. Maria is a prodigy who graduated from Hayate and Nagi's school four years prior, and also acts as Nagi's mother figure. While caring and insightful (being aware of Nagi's one-sided affection for Hayate), she is deathly afraid of cockroaches and is extremely defensive about her age (itself ambiguous, as she was originally an orphan found as an infant next to a statue of the Virgin Mary, after whom she was named).
