The Maiden in Black is one of the characters from Demon's Souls who serves as the one that ties you to the Nexus.
One of the few characters the player is unable to kill (normally), she serves to power up the unfortunate wanderer with the power of Souls. Her speech patterns are a bit broken though...
Japanese name: 火防女 (Himori-me, "Fire Keeper") or 黒衣の火防女 (Fire Keeper in Black) She was nicknamed "Kabo-tan" by her fans because 火防女 can be pronounced Kaboh-onna.
