Unlike several mobile suits during the Gryps Conflict, the Le Cygne doesn't transform and it is armed with some experimental equipment, such as a large, physical shield with several thrusters that adds onto the Gundam's speed and mobility, which also enables the shield to be used as a very effective ramming weapon, and a type of double-bladedbeam saber that is called a Twin Beam Trident (the beam emitter on each end can generate 3 beam blades: one with a standard length in the middle and 2 shorter ones at the sides. Hence, its name).
Its design is also unusual for a UC-era Gundam-type mobile suit. Its real life designer, Sayama Yoshinori stated that he created the Le Cygne's design with a kunoichi motif and also removed a number of standard Gundam traits onto it (ex. having a forward extending shoulder armor instead of standard sideward extending ones)
