In the first two timelines, he inherited the mantle of Sub-Zero following the death of the first Sub-Zero, his older brother Bi-Han, becoming Lin Kuei Grandmaster in the process. He would help the heroes of Earthrealm on numerous occasions, even when that meant fighting his own clan. As such, all main depictions of Sub-Zero that aren't explicitly Bi-Han, from Mortal Kombat 2 to Mortal Kombat 11, are Kuai Liang. In the third timeline meanwhile, he has become Scorpion. Due to the events of MK1, he would leave the Lin Kuei and form the Shirai Ryu, named after his wife, Harumi Shirai. The original Scorpion, Hanzo Hasashi, would join the Shirai Ryu as a kid.
