A franchise with various movies, TV shows, cartoons, comics, and video games featuring King Kong, a classic movie monster who resembles a gigantic ape. The character first appeared in the 1933 movie King Kong, which received universal acclaim upon its initial release and re-releases. The film was later remade in 1976 and 2005.

The original 1933 movie would be followed up by Son of Kong later that year, and a deal with Toho would see the release of the 1962 crossover movie King Kong vs. Godzilla and the 1967 movie King Kong Escapes. In 2017, the release of Kong: Skull Island would see King Kong join the MonsterVerse, later appearing in the 2020 crossover movie Godzilla vs. Kong, the 2024 crossover movie Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, and the 2024 TV show Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
