Unlike the polished stone tools used in facial treatments, Kerokan is traditionally performed using: A blunt-edged object: Often a vintage coin (like the iconic benggol), a porcelain spoon, or a specialized plastic tool. A lubricant: Usually a warming ointment, ginger oil, or coconut oil. The Technique: Firm, repetitive downward strokes on the back, neck, or chest until dark red marks—called "titik-titik angin"—appear.
