Sakura Kasugano (春日野 さくら) is a character in the Street Fighter series. She is introduced as a 16-year-old (as of Street Fighter Zero 3) Japanese schoolgirl who has an intense fixation with Ryu. She has managed to copy and learn some of Ryu's techniques but really wants him to train her personally. In her most recent appearance in Street Fighter V's new Arcade Edition, she has graduated high school and has taken a job at an arcade to make ends meet, but she still persists in fighting and training.
Sakura has typically fought in her school's uniform, a serafuku consisting of a slightly cropped white shirt with a popped blue sailor collar, a yellow neckerchief, a pleated blue miniskirt with red buruma underneath. She wears a red sports bra under her uniform, red gloves, red sneakers, and a white headband (given to her by Ryu before Street Fighter Zero 2). She wore this outfit up until Street Fighter V, where she replaced it with the employee uniform of the arcade she works at. She has short brown hair and blue eyes.
Chronologically, Sakura first appeared in Shiritsu Justice Gakuen, where she had started to participate in street fighting after watching Ryu win the first World Warrior tournament. Justice Gakuen saw Sakura involved in the adventure between her school and others in Ashura City. Fighting in it, she realized how much it meant to her to protect something she cared about.
