Also known by its NATO reporting name, "AA-2 Atoll". A Soviet heat-seeking air-to-air missile reverse-engineered from the American AIM-9 Sidewinder, hence it having very similar appearance to the American weapon. Since entering service in 1961, it has been widely exported to and used by the Warsaw Pact and other Communist Bloc nations.
